Rico Suave, Jr. is one of the main characters in Hannah Montana. He is a rich genius, and the manager of his shop, an outdoor concession stand located on the beach near the Stewarts' home.
Biography[]
He is a trickster who is great at getting revenge (most of the time). He and Jackson have an on and off friendship. In the second season he also attends school with Miley, Lilly, and Oliver. He generally acts as the main antagonist in season 1, becoming both a protagonist and antagonist in season 2 onwards. He is the only major character to not know Miley's secret, later finding out in the twelth episode of season 4. Rico comes from a very wealthy Latino family. His billionaire parents are often mentioned but never seen (though in one episode, the sound of his mother's voice can be heard on the phone). He has a sister, an almost identical brother named Mateo (Mateo Arias), a cousin named Teresa, and an identical Australian cousin nicknamed "Angus" whose real name is Alejandro Núñez Gonzalez Uberto Sifuentes (Moises Arias). He also has a grandmother who tried to help Rico get the recipe for Jackson and Oliver´s cheese jerky. Rico makes a brief cameo appearance in Hannah Montana: The Movie at Lilly's birthday party.
Personality[]
Rico is very gifted academically. He skipped a couple of grades in school and is in the same grade as Miley, Lilly, and Oliver, even though he is several years younger. He is especially good at biology and mathematics, once finishing a biology mid-term exam in less than one second, with still enough time to recheck all of his answers.
As the result of a Napoleon complex, Rico uses his money, brains and/or influence to put other people down, or blackmail them into doing something they do not want to do. He also tends to pursue relationships with girls much older than himself in order to increase his social status, bribing both Miley and Lilly in this way.
In the episode "Cheat It," Rico runs a sauna company called "Señor Steam" which Robby patronizes.
Rico and Jackson are almost always at odds with each other, as Rico always gets under his skin and Jackson always fails to get him back.

- His last name, Suave, means "gentle" in Spanish. But in America, Suave also means cool, or chic
- Rico’s hobby used to be collecting stamps.[2]
- His family owns a concession stand invested in Malibu Beach that is managed and owned by Rico, where Jackson works and makes his life miserable.
